Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae double bill featuring two live acts.
Trojan Horses are an eight or nine piece ska and rocksteady band from Hertfordshire. With almost a decade on the Herts music scene, they play a mix of classic Jamaican tunes from the 1960s and 70s alongside original material. Their influences include Phyllis Dillon, The Heptones, Dandy Livingstone, Toots and The Maytals, and Alton Ellis.
The SGs have been playing danceable, uplifting reggae at events across the country for several years. Rooted in traditional reggae with a sprinkling of ska, rocksteady and lovers rock, the band play mostly original material with a few carefully chosen covers. Their sets combine melodic rhythms, heartfelt lyrics and powerful vocals, with themes of social awareness, love, joy and struggle. They have played festivals including Balstock, Strawberry Fair, Sandon Fields and Maidstone Ska Festival, and have supported Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Gentleman's Dub Club, The Dualers, The Marley Experience and Jah Wobble.
