Despite finding success in the US with their first three brilliant albums, Cymande faced indifference and prejudice at home, became disillusioned, and disbanded in 1975. Their music lived on, however, as new generations of artists in the UK and US discovered, sampled, and reworked their pioneering sounds, bringing them to new audiences.
