Strange, But True Crimes

Strange, But True Crimes is an evening exploring some of the most bizarre and surprising cases from the world of criminal investigation.

Topics covered include a serial killer who found employment in law enforcement and was subsequently assigned to hunt himself, and a researcher whose career began with a chance encounter in a lift with a serial killer suspected of carrying decapitated heads.

The evening also looks at one woman's attempt to free a convicted serial killer by committing a copycat murder, and the hunt for a phantom female serial killer whose DNA turned up at more than 40 crime scenes — despite her not existing.

The event also examines how DNA, fingerprints or eyewitness testimony can place an innocent person at the scene of a crime they did not commit.
