Not only is Martin Simpson one of the most highly respected British folk guitarists and singers, widely admired for his intricate fingerstyle playing and expressive interpretations of traditional songs, but he is another artist who is delighted to make a return visit to St Andrew’s. Born in Scunthorpe, he has built an international reputation through solo recordings and collaborations across folk, blues and Americana. A frequent winner at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, Simpson continues to perform and record, inspiring new generations with his technical mastery, storytelling and deep knowledge of traditional music.

Martin has played St Andrew’s a couple of times in the past few years and you are urged to secure your tickets early.
