A double bill of stand-up previews ahead of the Edinburgh Fringe, featuring two established acts trying out new material.

Joseph Morpurgo returns with his first new show in nine years. In Highlander 70, he builds a show around something he stumbled upon at a car boot sale a decade ago — ordinary on the surface, but the starting point for a typically offbeat excavation of the past. Expect physical media, animation, and the recurring presence of Jim's Steak and Spaghetti House. Morpurgo has been described by The Scotsman as "the UK's foremost alchemist of found comedy and irreverent, cross-media mash-up humour."

Paddy Young, award-winning stand-up and a face from Saturday Night Live UK's Weekend Update, previews his new show. It's a personal one — centred on love, the fumbling of it, and the question of what the middle part of life is actually supposed to mean.
