Hertford Castle Heritage Day

Hertford Castle Heritage Day

As part of the national Heritage Open Days weekend, Hertford Town Council will host its annual Heritage Day at Hertford Castle on Sunday 21st September.

From 12-4pm, visitors can step back in time and experience the beautiful Castle lawn transformed to include a small settlement of interactive medieval encampments. Plus, a programme of activities and live entertainment including storytelling, archery and Viking battle re-enactments to be enjoyed.

Hertford Castle will also be open for visitors to explore, free of charge. As it is the centennial of the Hertford Honour the ‘Friends of Hertford Castle’ and the Sergeants at Mace will be presenting a display in celebration of this historic occasion, inside the Castle.

Surrounding the performance arena will be an array of stalls including food and drink, craft and charity stalls, as well as the Hertford Energy Hub where visitors can find out about how to save both energy and money, in the home.
