Gryphon are one of the most distinctive acts to emerge from the British folk and progressive rock scenes of the 1970s, releasing several influential albums, including the eponymous Red Queen to Gryphon Three (1974), a largely instrumental progressive rock work inspired by chess. Their music moves fluidly between lively folk dances, intricate prog-rock passages, and atmospheric instrumental pieces, reflecting both historical influences and contemporary experimentation. You really don’t want to miss this one.
Gryphon played at St Andrew’s in 2025 (see photo below) and are back by popular demand.
